Build a stationery business
that actually works.
Not just beautiful designs, but confident pricing, clients who value your work, and a studio built on solid foundations.
The Stationer’s Apprentice is our flagship 12-week training programme for creatives who want to turn their love of stationery into a sustainable, profitable business.
Inside, we share the systems, processes and industry knowledge that professional stationers rely on every day – the part most people are left to figure out for themselves.
Because a stationery business shouldn’t feel like a beautiful accident.
At some point, almost every aspiring stationer has the same realisation.
From the outside, it might look like your business has already begun. But behind the scenes, there’s a quieter thought:
“I might be completely winging this.”
You’re not quite sure what stationery should cost, how to structure a quote, or how proposals are meant to work. And because nobody really talks about this side of the industry, it’s easy to assume everyone else has it figured out.
They don’t.
The wedding stationery world is full of talented creatives – but creative skill alone doesn’t build a business.
Behind every successful studio sits something less visible: pricing, client processes, supplier relationships, and systems that allow everything to run properly.
Most people learn these through trial and error.
The Stationer’s Apprentice exists so you don’t have to.
The Stationer’s Apprentice is a 12-week professional training programme designed specifically for stationery designers.
The professional foundations behind a stationery business
The Stationer’s Apprentice is a 12-week training programme focused on the business side of running a stationery studio.
You’ll learn how to price your work confidently, run consultations that convert, create proposals clients say yes to, and manage projects with clarity from start to finish.
Alongside the training, you’ll have access to a private Slack community, live calls, and ongoing support throughout the programme.
By the end, you’ll have a clear structure for how your business operates – not just creatively, but professionally.
The SUITE Framework
Not guesswork.
Not scattered advice.
A clear way to see how everything fits together.
Strategy – define your direction and position within the industry
Understanding – learn how to attract and guide the right clients
Infrastructure – build systems that support your work behind the scenes
The Numbers – price your work clearly and sustainably
Execution – bring everything together into a professional client experience
When these five parts are in place, your business starts to feel very different.
Less reactive.
More intentional.
And significantly more confident.
The framework behind successful stationery studios
Inside the programme, we teach the SUITE Framework – a simple, practical way to understand the five parts every successful stationery business relies on.

Inside The Programme
You’ll learn how to:
price your work with clarity and confidence
run consultations that lead to bookings
create proposals clients understand and say yes to
manage projects professionally from enquiry to delivery
build a business structure that supports your creativity

From “I’m winging this” to running a real business
Over the years, we’ve watched students move from uncertainty to confidence, building stationery businesses with structure, clarity, and their own distinct style. Here’s what that looks like in practice:
“I used to dread pricing anything. Now I actually understand how to do it properly.”
“I finally understood how pricing actually works”
Before: unsure what to charge, constantly second-guessing
After: confident quoting and clear pricing structure
“I stopped feeling like
I was making it up as I
went along”
“Everything feels so much clearer. I actually have a process now.”
Before: piecing things together, no clear process
After: structured client journey and workflow
“I WENT FROM IDEA TO REAL ENQUIRIES”
“This course gave me the confidence to take myself seriously.”
Before: unsure how to start
After: attracting and handling real client work
“I WISH I’D DONE THIS SOONER”
“I spent so long trying to figure things out myself. This would have saved me months, if not years.”
Before: months of trial and error
After: clarity, structure, and confidence
I’M GRANIA
YOUR HOST FOR THE STATIONER’S APPRENTICE
(& the ‘Patsy’ of the Suite Press duo)
If we haven’t met before, hello – I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m the founder of Ink & Paper, a luxury wedding stationery studio specialising in letterpress and hot foil. Over the years, I’ve worked closely with clients, planners, printers and suppliers across the wedding industry – designing, quoting, managing projects, and navigating everything that happens behind the scenes.
What that experience has shown me is that running a stationery business isn’t just about creating beautiful work. It’s about understanding how the entire process fits together – from pricing and proposals through to production and delivery – and having the confidence to lead that process professionally.
The Stationer’s Apprentice was created to make that side of the industry clearer. It brings together the systems, decisions and ways of working that allow a stationery business to run smoothly and sustainably – the knowledge most stationers only gain over time.
Alongside this, you’ll also benefit from Freya’s expertise, particularly around print and production. Her experience across digital and commercial print brings an additional layer of technical understanding to how stationery is produced in the real world.
Consider this your shortcut – not to success, but to clarity.
The Stationer’s Apprentice is for you if…
want to build a stationery business, not just take on the occasional project
are ready to move from “trying things out” to doing this properly
feel unsure about pricing, proposals, or how the process should work
want to understand the industry from the inside
value structure, clarity, and learning things properly from the start

What we’ll cover during our time together
Module 1:
why - Finding your Suite spot
We begin by defining the direction of your business.
You’ll clarify what you want to be known for, who you want to work with, and where your work sits within the industry – creating a foundation that informs every decision that follows.
MODULE 2:
who - IDEAL CLIENT
Not every client is the right client.
In this module, we explore how to identify and attract the people you actually want to work with, and how to use that understanding to guide your messaging, offers, and client conversations.
MODULE 3:
what - defining your offer
This is where your work becomes a business.
You’ll learn how to structure your stationery offering in a way that feels clear, considered, and commercially viable – setting boundaries that support both you and your clients.
MODULE 4:
Print Finishes – Decision Literacy
Understanding print is essential, even if you’re not producing it yourself.
We’ll walk through key print methods and finishes, so you can make informed decisions, guide your clients confidently, and avoid costly misunderstandings.
MODULE 5:
Sourcing Suppliers – Strategic Partnerships
Behind every successful stationery studio is a strong network of suppliers.
You’ll learn how to source, assess, and build relationships with the people who will support your work – from paper stocks through to print and production.
MODULE 6:
Costing – Building a Profitable Model
Pricing is where many stationers feel the most uncertainty.
This module breaks it down into a clear, practical approach – helping you understand your costs, structure your pricing, and build a model that actually supports your business.
MODULE 7:
Money, Tax & Legals – Financial Clarity
This module covers the financial and legal foundations of your business.
From tax and record-keeping to contracts and protection, you’ll gain clarity on what’s required – and how to approach it with confidence.
MODULE 8:
The Client Process – Consults to Delivery
A strong client experience doesn’t happen by accident.
You’ll learn how to guide your clients from initial enquiry through to final delivery, with a process that feels clear, professional, and easy to manage.
MODULE 9:
Organisation & Systems – Infrastructure
This is where your business becomes easier to run.
We’ll look at the tools, systems, and workflows that keep everything organised behind the scenes, so you’re not constantly starting from scratch.
MODULE 10:
Proposals – Turning Enquiries into Bookings
Enquiries are only valuable if they convert.
In this final module, you’ll learn how to structure proposals clearly, present your work with confidence, and move clients from interest to commitment.
FAQs
Who is this programme for?
The Stationer’s Apprentice is for creatives who want to build a stationery business, not just experiment with the idea.
You might be at the very beginning or have taken on a few early projects. What matters is that you’re ready to approach this properly and want a clearer understanding of how the business side works.
Do I need to have started my business already?
No.
Many students join before launching, while others come in after their first enquiries or projects.
The programme is designed to give you the foundations early, so you’re not figuring things out through trial and error later on.
What kind of support will I have?
You’ll be supported with:
a private Slack community
live calls for questions and guidance
peer support from other stationers
You’re not left to figure things out alone.
Is this a worthwhile investment?
Yes.
You’ll learn how to price your work properly, convert enquiries into bookings, and run your business with confidence.
For many students, one or two bookings cover the investment – with the benefits continuing long after the programme ends.
How long does the programme take?
The programme runs over 12 weeks, with 10 modules and 2 implementation weeks built in.
You’ll also have lifetime access, so you can revisit the content whenever you need.
How much does the programme cost?

If you’d prefer to spread the cost, a payment plan is available.
Do you teach design as part of this programme?
No – this programme focuses entirely on the business side of running a stationery studio.
If you’re looking to build your design skills or learn Adobe, that’s what our Adobe Fundamentals programme is for.
What if I fall behind or need to take a break?
That’s completely fine.
The programme is designed to fit around real life. While we recommend moving through the modules week by week to build momentum, you’ll have lifetime access, so you can pause, revisit, and pick things back up whenever you need.
Can I get a refund?
As this is a digital programme with immediate access to content, refunds are not available.
If you’re unsure, you’re very welcome to email us at hello@suitepress.co.uk before enrolling.
